Warehouse Stocker Day Shift
The Warehouse stocker is responsible for the accurately stocking fresh, frozen and dry goods throughout the warehouse. Rotation of all products is essential and following First-In First-out procedures throughout the facility. Safely following lifting procedures and operating MHE equipment during hours of operations. Transporting products from one location to another safely and scanning product with radio frequency units to ensure product is correct in the system. Assisting with loading trucks when needed and unloading and stacking pallets as a part of the daily job activities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Takes direction from the Day Warehouse Managers on which areas he or she will work.
- Understanding units of measure and identifying the correct product that is being stocked.
- Collaborates effectively with a team with a sense of urgency to stock and put away the pallets from inbound deliveries in an accurate and safe manner.
- Complete clear precise instruction for how pallets are built and loaded to assist with driver safety and on time deliveries.
- Works with team with regards to ensure the trucks are leaving on time regarding customer deliveries.
- Complete all shift closing tasks and cleaning assignments that are delegated by the manager.
- Completes selection, stocking and keeping all areas of the warehouse always clean.
- Maintain safe work environment, reports any safety issues, accidents and or near misses to his or her immediate supervisor.
- Ensure proper training is provided as needed and assist management with the training of new employees when needed.
- Assist with operational flow throughout the shift. Communicate with direct manager to gauge progress and reach completion of all assigned duties by the end of shift.
- Spot check paperwork /pallet sequencing to ensure accuracy as well as performing audits on specified accounts.
- Works with department managers to discuss issues that arise such as order shortages and delivery issues.
- Communicate daily with Night Warehouse Manager regarding operations.
- Performing other duties and tasks not listed as requested by the immediate supervisor.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements
- 1-3 years warehouse experience
- Food Distribution knowledge/experience a plus
- Excellent analytical skills
- Demonstrate solid written and verbal skills.
- Have exceptional critical thinking and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work in multiple temperature zones such as freezers and coolers
- Possesses strong time management and organizational skills.
- Is willing to work in a challenging environment.
- Can multitask while communicating effectively
Physical Requirements
- Physical ability to regularly lift, carry, and position: up to 20 lbs. regularly, up to 50 lbs. frequently, and up to 80 lbs. occasionally.
- Must be able to constantly bend, reach, climb, squat, and stand throughout shift.
- Confident and comfortable operating equipment at heights up to thirty feet
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
